Terms of Service

TaxPal was founded on the simple premise that taxes should be easy for everyone. All of our services have been built with that premise at the core. To make sure we can offer high quality tax services at an affordable price, we deliver our services, including tax return assistance and tax guidance ("Services"), mainly through our web platform ("Platform").

These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to all services provided by TaxPal AB, with corporate registration number 559456-6902 (also referred to as "TaxPal", "we", "us"), to the user of the Services ("you" or “your”). For information about the personal data collected, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

By creating a user account (“Account”) or accessing our Platform you agree to the Terms. Please make sure you read and understand them first.

The services

Our Services enable users to prepare and file their tax returns through the Platform, as well as receive guidance around several topics of Swedish tax & social security legislation. Through our Services we strive to make it easy for you to fulfil your tax obligations and to make it easy for you to plan your life as an expat without being held back by not understanding tax obligations.

  • Tax Agency Proxy

    We offer you the possibility of providing us with a Tax Agency Proxy, which enables for us to collect information related to your tax situation directly from the Tax Agency thus minimizing the amount of information that you need to provide us with manually. We don’t charge you anything extra for the use of this service.

  • Data Collection

    Services provided by TaxPal depend at least in part on the information collected about you, through potentially various sources explained below. For us to be able to provide you with accurate high quality Services, it’s of the utmost importance that the information about you is correct. We therefore ask that you review all the information presented about you on the Platform, whether provided directly from you, your employer, Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) or the Population Registry.

Liability

  • Force majeure

    TaxPal is not liable for damage due to Swedish or foreign law or official action, acts of war, terrorism, IT attacks, strikes, blockades, boycotts, lockouts, pandemics, fires or other accidents, natural disasters or disruptions to IT, telecommunications or electricity distribution or any other similar unforeseen circumstances.

  • Changes in legislation etc.

    TaxPal delivers the Services in accordance with the rules in force and based on the understanding of applicable statutory interpretations and judgements at the time the Services are carried out. The Contractor is not responsible for the consequences of statutory changes or reinterpretations made after the date on which the Services were delivered.

  • Limitation of liability

    Damage in cases other than those referred to in paragraphs above are compensated by TaxPal only if we have acted negligently or wilfully, or if we have provided a guarantee. TaxPal is in no case liable for loss of production, loss of profit or any other indirect or consequential damage of any kind whatsoever.

  • Maximum amount of compensation

    TaxPal’s liability for all damages, losses, costs and expenses is limited to the contract value of one year. However, the limitation does not apply if it is shown that TaxPal has caused the damage through intent or gross negligence. Compensation is payable only in accordance with this clause; no price reduction or other penalties can be paid.

Intellectual property

The Services and all content (including logos, graphics and text) related to the Services is the property of TaxPal. You may not distribute, publish, broadcast‚ sell, modify, display or otherwise use the Services for any public or commercial purpose without our permission. TaxPal does not claim ownership of any of the content that you provide, upload or submit to us (”Content”). You declare that are the copyright owner of the content that you make available to us, and that it is free of viruses, malware or other computer threats. When providing us with Content, you grant us a non-exclusive and irrevocable license to use that Content to help us improve our Services and develop new ones. Any Content that violates these Terms may be removed by TaxPal.

Your duties and obligations

  • - The information provided by you shall be be accurate, current and complete and you agree that no information important to the fulfilling of our Services is withheld or distorted.
  • - You agree to promptly provide us with data requested by us in connection with providing the Services.
  • - You agree to assist us in performing our contractual duties.
  • - You agree to not us our Platform or Services to violate any laws or regulations.
  • - You agree that the final responsibility of filing your tax return with the Swedish Tax Agency lies with you.

Duration & Termination

When purchasing specific Services from TaxPal we will enter into a Service Agreement. The Service Agreement(s) define in more detail the deliverables from TaxPal as well as the obligations for you, and expire once the services have been fully performed by TaxPal, and the respective fee has been paid by you. In contrast, these Terms apply indefinitely throughout your use and access of our Platform.

TaxPal and you are entitled to terminate that Terms at any time within a notice period of 10 business days. Note that this means you will no longer have access to the Platform.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Swedish law.

Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall exclusively be resolved by the competent court of Stockholm, Sweden.
